Where Ballet Meets Stories, Music, and World Themes
A Journey Around the World
Ballet fundamentals are woven into stories inspired by cultures from around the world. Through themed music, movement, and imaginative scenarios, students are introduced to rhythm, balance, and coordination while learning to appreciate diversity and creativity.
This multi-sensory approach helps young dancers connect emotionally to what they’re learning.
The Royal Princess Ball – a Celebration of Their Accomplishments
At the end of the season, dancers are invited to participate in a special recital experience often referred to as the Royal Princess Ball. This celebration allows students to showcase what they’ve learned in a relaxed, encouraging environment designed for young performers.

A Program Parents Trust, Designed by Experts
The Around the World Fairytale Princess Ballet program is taught at leading dance studios nationwide and has been featured in publications such as Lifestyle Frisco for its imaginative, child-friendly approach to early ballet education. Created by respected dance educator Chris Duncan, the curriculum provides instructors with flexible, well-structured lesson plans that keep young dancers moving, learning, and having fun.
At Jenison Music Lessons, we’re excited to bring this proven pre-ballet program to local families, offering a high-quality dance experience built on creativity, consistency, and expert instruction.
Confidence That Grows With Every Class
Ballet is about much more than learning steps or holding a pose. It’s a chance for children to explore movement, express themselves, and discover what they’re capable of in a positive, encouraging space. Our instructors combine dance training with an understanding of early childhood development, allowing each child to grow at their own pace while feeling supported and celebrated.
Over the course of the program, families often notice meaningful growth as children begin to:
- Develop strength, balance, and coordination
- Practice working together in a group setting
- Improve focus, listening, and classroom confidence
- Experience the joy of movement set to music
And best of all, it all happens naturally—through play, creativity, and plenty of smiles along the way.

Helpful Answers for Parents
More Information on Our Beginner Ballet Program
What should my child wear to ballet class?
Dancers should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely, such as tights, a leotard, athletic shorts, or a t-shirt. Ballet slippers are required for class, and we recommend keeping long hair pulled back so your child can move, spin, and dance without distractions.
My child is shy or brand new to dance. Is this class a good fit?
Absolutely. Our instructors are very experienced in working with beginners and understand that every child warms up at their own pace. We focus on creating a welcoming, supportive environment where children feel comfortable, encouraged, and free to join in when they’re ready.
How are global stories woven into each class?
Each class features a princess story inspired by a different part of the world, gently introducing cultural ideas through music, movement, and imaginative storytelling—all presented in a way that’s easy for young children to understand and enjoy.
Is year-long enrollment required?
We offer flexible enrollment options, so families are not required to commit for the entire year. Many choose to continue throughout the season to enjoy the full program experience, which wraps up with the Royal Princess Ball celebration.
What if my child has trouble focusing or loses interest during class?
Our classes are designed with young learners in mind, using small group sizes and an engaging, movement-based format to keep children involved. Instructors are trained to adjust as needed and support each child at their own pace, creating a positive and encouraging experience for everyone.
Will there be a performance or recital?
Yes! At the end of the season, dancers are invited to take part in the Royal Princess Ball, a relaxed and joyful performance that celebrates their progress and lets them shine in a fun, low-pressure setting.
